Jenny Wagstaff who runs Women Only Connected.com (www.womenonlyconnected.com) said how much she liked my article https://www.thetrueworthexpert.com/love-is-the-answer-you-know-that-for-sure/ partly because, like me, she loves John Lennon. (For those who don’t know, the title is some of the lyrics taken from Mind Games.) Anyway, she suggested my next article should be entitled “Imagine.”
So I took up the gauntlet and put my thinking cap on. Almost immediately ideas started bursting forth, based on what I’m currently working on myself.
Imagination is a powerful force which can manifest your heart’s desires but only if you allow it and only in the universe’s time – not yours. So let’s see what you make of the following five intentions you can begin working on right away.
1. Imagine if you believed that the universe is a friendly place and everything is here to help you, even though your ego judges situations as good or bad. I remember many years ago my Father saying that often something which appeared to be adverse often turned out to be beneficial in the long run. However, the ego loves to judge, definitely craves being right and, above all, wants instant gratification!
2. Imagine if you had complete faith in your journey. Imagine accepting where you are in it without judgement and trusting and allowing it to unfold before you, in its own good time, rather than trying to manipulate it. No more impatience, need to compare yourself with anyone else or be jealous of others’ good fortune. On the contrary, as you bless others’ success, you draw good fortune to you. There is just one caveat – this does not mean you sit on your bum and do nothing. You still need to take action, let it go and have no expectations of the results. OK this may seem like a tall order; however, it’s one which I’m sure you are worthy of.
3. Imagine if you believed that everyone (you included) is always doing the best they can at any particular moment, even though the inner critic wants to tell you otherwise. Here’s a question for you. Do you think most people (psychopaths and sociopaths excluded!) get up in the morning and think to themselves, I’m going to see how badly I can behave today, how many people I can annoy or hurt and be as obnoxious as I possibly can? Put like that you are probably chuckling to yourself and saying no of course not. So I urge you to begin practising this new behaviour on a daily basis, as often as you can possibly recall. And remember, start with the most important person – you!
4. Imagine if you were just 1% kinder to everyone you meet each week, no matter how that person shows up and what buttons they may press in you. OK, this one is challenging – I grant you – and yet, if you’re willing to practise this, you will find yourself feeling more peaceful more often. Can’t be bad can it? Of course, make sure that you practise being kinder to yourself as well, which links in nicely with the point above.
5. Imagine if you valued yourself highly enough, so that you could charge what you’re worth and be completely comfortable with the answer the client gives you, whether they accept your offer or not. Paradoxically, if you did feel this way, the chances are you would receive more yeses than nos.
And if you say these are too difficult, then just imagine what it would be like to be able to do them. Get the idea? You can also use this process and make up your own “imagines” for any area where you may be challenged.
And finally, this article would not be complete without the wonderful words of the immortal John Lennon’s Imagine:
Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people Living for today… Aha-ah…
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace…
You,.. You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world…
You,.. You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one
